Spean Bridge, Roy Bridge and Achnacarry
Our Visitors

Introducing Our Visitor Pages
We are blessed with some of the most magnificent scenery in the West Highlands, including no fewer than seventeen Munros and four freshwater lochs at Arkaig, Lochy, Treig and Ossian. And it’s not only nature which supplies the grandeur: within our boundaries is one of the twentieth century’s most impressive man-made infrastructure projects, the Lochaber hydroelectric scheme incorporating 18 miles of underground tunnels from the spectacular Laggan Dam. Two major trunk roads cross our area – the A82 linking Fort William and Inverness and the A86 between Spean Bridge and Kingussie. Remarkably for 2022, we still have four fully operational railway stations at Corrour, Tulloch, Roy Bridge and Spean Bridge whilst Thomas Telford’s Caledonian Canal connects Loch Lochy with the tidal Loch Linnhe at the end of the Great Glen. It’s no exaggeration to say that we are literally the Hub of the Highlands.
Designed primarily for our visitors, on these pages we take a brief look at places of interest as well as the only centrally available list of all hotel and other accommodation providers including self-catering cottages, pods and camp sites, with links to their websites. Restaurants and cafes are also shown.
When considering what to do here, you may also wish to consult the outdoor activities and retail businesses on the page devoted to Our Businesses.
Whatever your choices, you can be sure of warm hospitality across our area.
