Our Funding Partners and Sponsors

Our Funding Partners

We are extremely grateful for our ongoing financial support from our three Funding Partners:

SSE Renewables’ Stronelairg Windfarm Community Fund provides up to £50,000 pa in community benefit for three years, managed internally.

This is awarded to eligible projects via Major Grants of up to £10,000 assessed via a regional appraisal panel meeting quarterly and via Microgrants of up to £500 administered directly by our Community Council.

Koehler’s Allt Mhuic hydro scheme generates community benefit of £5,525 pa, to be spent specifically on education, environmental projects or improving outdoor spaces

Green Highland Renewables operate a micro hydro turbine at Nevis Range releasing around £3,135 pa of community benefit. Our SCIO has discretion over how these funds are distributed.

Our Sponsors

We could not serve our community without the generous financial support of individuals and organisations locally.  Many donations have been anonymous, but those we are able to openly acknowledge since July 2022 include:

  • Highland Actuarial Solutions – £2,000
  • Ferguson Transport & Shipping – £2,000 via our Community Council
  • Killiechonate Woodlands – £1,000 towards the replacement playpark equipment at Altour Road, Spean Bridge
  • HIE (Highland and Islands Enterprise) – 50% funding of our part-time Community Development Officer

Donating and Sponsoring

Donations from individuals or local community organisations are welcome at any time.

All funds given to our SCIO are spent directly on projects which benefit our community, and not on administration. Bequests may of course be made, either in memory of a loved one or anonymously as the donor prefers.

Contributions towards our work are also gladly received from local businesses. Any such gifts are publicly acknowledged on our website and your business would become one of our Sponsors. If preferred, a donation could be linked to a specific project or activity, with signage where appropriate.

Please enquire in confidence here.
